Get to know Devendar Rathore

Falkor consists of over 700 people located in six countries with a wide range of nationalities. We would like you to get to know people from our organization, and we are therefore pleased to present our latest article in “The people of Falkor” article series – this time with User Experience Designer Devendar Rathore, based in our Bengaluru office in India. We had a talk with Devendar about what caught his attention with Falkor, how he and his team develop game changing technology today, and how he believes Falkor will play a key role in making the maritime and energy sectors more sustainable in close future.

‍Who is Devendar?

“I am a User Experience Designer by choice and passion. I have been working at Falkor since April 2021, in the Bengaluru office in India. I am passionate about designing innovative digital products, services, and environment through the critical design thinking process.

Before joining Falkor, I worked as Senior UI/UX designer at a service-based start-up in Chandigarh city of India. I have a master’s degree in computer applications and used to be a design educator. Prior to joining the industry sector, I worked with teaching thousands of next generation designers to be responsible for designing better products and contribute to improve life of people around us.

I was born and raised in Rajasthan state in India. I love to interact with people, to learn from them and share my experience, knowledge, and case studies. In my free time, you can find me either singing, playing basketball or cooking food.”, Devendar says.

‍When you were looking for a new employer, what caught your interest with Falkor?

“In February 2021, I decided to actively look for a job change and move to Bengaluru, India´s Silicon Valley. One day, I received a call for a job opportunity in Falkor India. When asked about my interest in a Senior UI/UX designer job profile, I was positive and sent my resumé.”, Devendar says.

“I researched Falkor uppen, and what I found ignited my interest and zeal to grab this opportunity. The dots were connected to my childhood dream and interest. Every child has their own interest while they grow; either they love to play digital games, read comic books, or watch cartoons. I grew up with an interest in heavy machinery, technology, wildlife, and nature. I loved to watch National Geographic, Discovery, and history channels.

During the hiring process, I had the opportunity to interact with people at Falkor. The way I was treated amazed me, as well as the recruitment organization. I look back and realize, 2nd March 2021 was one of the happiest days of my life – that is the day I received a job offer from Falkor. It really was a WOW-situation when I read about the benefits for 2021. Today, I am confident to say the benefits at Falkor are really world class. I am happy and proud of my decision to join the Falkor family.”

‍What is your contribution to create game changing technology in Falkor?

“I am working as User Experience Designer in the Digital Ocean department of Falkor, India. As a UX designer, my prime responsibility is to empathize with users, end-users, and customers to understand their needs, pain points, expectations, different impact factors and value proposition. It is essential for me to bring innovative user centered design solutions to user problems. I am happy to say that at Falkor we care about our product end-users and keep their needs and expectations at center.

How do you see Falkor as a game changing company in the coming years?

“I believe Team + Environment + Mindset = Breakthrough Innovation. At Falkor we have all three factors; a super talented team, world class workplace environment and a group of like-minded creative people. I am confident that together we will be able to bring breakthrough innovations that will improve people´s lives.

In a short span of time, Falkor has made global footprints. We are building digital solutions for overly complex industries within the global maritime and energy sectors while keeping a sustainable and greener world as our core concern.
